HI THIS IS THE UHFENTIC PRESIDENT
I KNOW THAT EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN VIEWS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED HERE IN POSSIE THIS CARNIVAL AND ALOT OF NEGATIVE VIBES WAS SPREADED. BUT I WANT TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY HERE TO ASK THE GENERAL PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC WHEN LAST DID ANY ONE OF YOU HAD SUCH AN ENJOYABLE CARNIVAL? WHICH ONE OF YOU EVER TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMMEND US ? IT WAS A PLEASURE TO TRAMPLE ON US THOUGH? DO U KNOW WHAT IT TAKES FINACIALLY TO ORGANISE A CARNIVAL WITHOUT ASSISTANCE NOT FROM U THE PUBLIC MUCH LESS FROM SPONSORS.
I LION IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE IN A SOCIETY LIKE POSSIE BUT YET STILL ITS MY HOME TOWN AND U=I LOVE IT AND WE WILL TYR AGAIN TRUST AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TO ENSURE THAT THESE BILLS GETS PAID AND WHEN ITS ALL DONE AND POSSIE STARTS TO SWING AGAIN I WILL BE WAITING FOR U THE CRITIQUES TO PART U ON UR SHOULDERS JUST TO SAY ITS PEOPLE LIKE U THAT JUST KEEPS US GOING FOR MORE JUST TO SHOW U GUYS HOW NEGEAITVE AND HEART BREAKING U ALL ARE.

TO ANYONE WHOM WE OWE I SAY JUST CONTINUE BEARING PATIEBNCE WITH US WE ABOUT TO START WORKING ON IT AGAIN AND FOR THOSE OF U WHO STOOD STRONG WITH US I SAY THANK GOD BLESS.

One of the biggest problem we have as a race is the ability to tear each other apart. It appears as if some take pleasure in creating divide. Unfortunately those are the persons who are vocal and they spread the negativity about any situation.

What I would suggest to the Possie residents, try to figure out what the problem is and work on a solution to address the situation.

You have a wonderful town situated in one of Dominica most picturesque location, with lush greenery and calm waters with beautiful beaches, an ideal flat terrain to play mass including Benjamin's Park, the Cabrits, Long House, Indian River etc. You have the potential to be all that one is looking for as a tourist destination and also for local entertainment.

The Uhfentic group is trying or tried. Speaking from experience as volunteer of anything Dominican, one of the most discouraging thing is when the community you're trying to promote turn on you and try to tear you apart.

Possie will be better when you all unite and work together to give Portsmouth the recognition the town deserves.

So present your ideas on how you as a Possie resident whether you're a local resident or living in the Diaspora can move Possie forward. You can all to wonders when You work together with the mind set that a prosperous Possie will be beneficial to all.

A Dominican

Uhfentic is not the first Group and will not be the first Group in Possie and nothing never makes it here in possie because we the PEOPLE of the town is always the first to have negative Vibes on anything thats beening done in the town, and its all about MONEY we need to give to recieve. YOu people who going aroung calling people names and thing one day you will meet your match and will ask yourself where did you go wrong. Uhfentic need to put their act together and get back out there and forget about what possie people say.Heads up Uhfentic

Ian Dauglas the pal rep of portsmouth is the one that doh pay MRF, Nature Boys. He gave Jenner bounce check for his sound system. He promise he would pay the bands and the sound system but fail to do so. What more could you expect he is only a politician better known as liars and full of talk. Ian should be held responsible and possie people should let him know that

As some of the persons already said bashing UHFENTIC left, right and center is not a productive exercise. What we should do is ask ourselves what we can do to help, how can we make things better? We all enjoyed the carnival activities. Before and during carnival we all enjoyed the activities planned by the group and we did not think about the cost for doing things. Everything has a price. In addition UHFENTIC was not responsible for paying MFR for the Carnival street Parade so please get your facts straight. It is sad that they haven't been yet , I do sympathize with them but UHFENTIC is taking the fall for someone else. Ask MFR who was responsible for paying them, they will tell you. Another thing is that some of the sponsors, the corporate citizens in Portsmouth whose businesses we carnival lovers patronize refused to pay the monies which they pledged towards the carnival activities. In simple terms, they said they were giving money then they backed out. So we should really do our investigation, get to the root of the issue and try to understnd things instead of trying to crucify this group whose effort in organizing carnival was very ambitious but yet commendable. Even now the same members of the group whom persons are criticizing have had to deep their hands in their own pockets to pay for the carnival you enjoyed. That is what we like in Portsmouth Freeness!!!!! One set work, all enjoy then we come back and criticize without asking how we could help to improve things. Instead of continuing to criticize, offer you services to your community, volunteer to help. That is how you will be able to make a positive difference. Let us change this culture of diviseness and conflict in Portsmouth. We have so much more to offer, there is so much energy, if we were to channel this energy to do positive things Portsmouth would be a much better place. We need to work together and not pull in each other down in times of adversity. Remember our words and thoughts and attitude are very important, if we adopt a positive attitude, cutlivate positive thoughts this will be reflected in our lives and vice versa. So lets be a positve and productive people. To the members of UHFENTIC, I say be strong and do not give up. Your judgement may have been flawed in certain instances but you meant well. Remember even Jesus Christ was persecuted when he did good and he said " a prophet is never welcomed in his own home". May God bless you richly and may God bless our beloved town of Portsmouth.

Ya UHFENTIC and Ian the pal rep did not pay alot of people for carnival this year.

I herd they gave out how much bounce check.

That is not fair to MFR. They played alot too. Now i hear their bassmnan leave the band because he not getting pay when he play and he have his woman to feed.

MFR keep up the good work and be strong. The road is not easy since i herd Seramix is doing some serious work in the studios.

I over heard a sneak preview of Seramix new song. I heard Jenner bring back Carlos his former vocalist on their wild and wassy album since Loic dis him for a woman. I waiting patiently for seramix to come back. they were the only band to have their own style. MFR sounding to much like tripple kay and wck. I always telling people once jenner is there seramix doh die. Mr have all them equipment at his home and he knows how to write and compose hit songs. Let wait and see what coming out

I am a native of Possie leaving about from a very young age. I knew POrtsmouth before Dominica became independent . Most of the people who contributed to making the place be "The Place" have either left he country or are no longer active or are dead. Seeing what and how the place is actually ,it takes great courage to want to strive in there. I must congratulate these people who decided to give it a try. However all these people who critisize so much are they participating in getting one step ahead? These people who have all these rumors around the town what are they looking for? It is so easy to bring down people instead of doing, so why not give some volontary free time to your community? Let your criticisme be positive.Money is not all, maybe someone had to deep their hand in their pocket to be able to pay a debitor as nonbody does anything for free not even to help their community. Stop critisizing and give your time to the community.

Now is the time to say "I DID WHAT IT TOOK TO HELP BRING BACK PORTSMOUTH ON THE MAP OF DOMINICA". Out here Possie is referred to as "The Republic of Possie" with great shame So Portsmouth people get up and strive. Now is the time.

NB: I still want to know what is programmed for Reunion 2008 as I need to make travel arrangments. Thank you for your time.

In response to this last comment please take note: Negativity breeds negativity and positivity breeds positivity as well as prosperity.

Grow up, and stop repeating what you hear other people have said they heard members of the UHFENTIC group said on the road, as you did not hear this yourself it would seem.

All the more reason not to repeat it and spread those very dangerous and malicious, not to mention destructive type of toxic behaviour, that has held back an area (Portsmouth) with so much untapped potential back for centuries now!!!!!

It is high time we stop this rediculous and primitive practice and give suggestions as to how, if there are indeed any problems as you say, they can be resolved amicably and move on to te next task at hand.

YOU PORTSMOUTH PEOPLE WASTE FAR TOO MUCH VALUABLE TIME ON IDLE GOSSIP AND PETTY MINDED DRAMA.

THINK OF WHAT IT IS THAT I CAN DO FOR MY TOWN/CITY AND NOT WHAT I CAN GET BEFORE I MAKE A CONTRIBUTION.

OTHERWISE PORTSMOUTH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND EVERY OTHER VILLAGE, DISTRICT AND TOWN WHO SEEM TO GET A BUZZ WORKING ALONG EACH OTHER AND MAKING THINGS HAPPEN IN THE LOCAL SURROUNDINGS IN A POSITIVE WAY.

BREAK THS SHACKLES FROM THE SLAVERY LEGACY AND ASPIRE TO ELEVATE THE TOWN OF PORTSMOUTH!!!!!

Portsmouth has not seen a carnival like this one in years, actually it came very close to the ones we use to have during the existance of PECOC.

JUST IMAGINE! from the launching of the queen contestants up to carnival Tuesday night, these talented young members of UHFENTIC made a great effort to keep Possie alive. A whole week before carnival MEMORY LANE LIVE, BAND SPLASH,BEACH BASH, DJs SIZZLES, BLOCKO AND MORE!WOOOOOOOOOOOW

It could have only been better this time around if the UFENTIC group was sitting in a pot of gold.

taLking about that , have u guys out there in DA and out of DA sit back and wonder ,WHERE DID THE MONEY COME FROM? HOW ARE THEY GOING TO SETTLE THESE GREAT BILLS?

BOOOOOOOO TO DFC , NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT CAME FROM THEM.

I KEEP ON PRAYING SILENTLY JUST HOPING THAT U GUYS STAY UNITED ALSO THAT THE PORTSMOUTH COMMUNITY GIVE MORE FINANCIAL SUPPORT NEXT TIME AROUND.

TO ALL UFENTIC FANS , DOMINICANS, POSSIE MASSIVE IN AND OUT OF DA DO SOMETHING FOR PORTSMOUTH SO THAT ONCE AGAIN WE WILL SEE AND ENJOY POSSIE AGIAN AS THE MOST VIBRANT COMMUNITY IN DA.

CALL THE CONTACT # ON THIS SITE AS I DID AND DISCOVER WHY THERE ARE NOT YET ANY PHOTO UPDATE ALSO HOW U CAN SUPPORT THIS GROUP ESPECIALLY FINANCIALLY AS I DID . LITTLE AS IT WAS.
THEY ARE GREATLY IN NEED OF MONEY TO MOVE ON.

SO BE A PART AND CONTRIBUTE IN ANYWAY U CAN.
REMEMBER POSSIE MASSIVE , POSSIE BELONG TO US, LETS HELP PUT IT BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT WHERE IT BELONGS.

TO THE VENDORS U ALL WERE HAPPY THERE WERE EVENTS TO MAKE A LITTLE DAILY BREAD ,SO IF U ALL WANT IT TO REMAIN THAT WAY IT IS NOT TO LATE TO GIVE A LITTLE BACK.

LOOKING FOWARD TO BIGGER THINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR .please bring back FETE MARINE GUATANCE, MAKE CREOLE IN THE NORTH WHAT IT SHOULD BE. UFENTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIGGGGG UP UHFENTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM THERE WITH U ALL.

SINCERELY

Everyday I check there doesn't seem to be anything and it is very frustrating.

The responsibility for uploading pics and updating the site should be shared not by one but several people in the group.

Updates should be done as least after each function so that people viewing can have something to look at.

Best of l luck!

PS: Do you intend to produce DVD's with thelive show on their for sale as that would be revenue for the committee as well as great gifts to give friends and relavtives overseas?

I was a bit disappointed with the bands in possy for the carnival. Nature Boys was okay on monday, they just need more practice and a good singer. I did not feel MFR on Tuesday, i expected more calypso and old school music too much remix of BET and Bouyor' and they stop and talk to much..MG time is running out no time to talk...but MFR is our number 1 band in D/ca.

I am so glad I decided to go home, because I would hate for someone to be telling me what I missed at the Miss North Queen Pageant. Contrary to an earlier comment, I believe that the show was very well judged. I was there and very attentive for the whole show and was very satisfied with the judging. The whole thing, from the setup at the Longhouse "mini-statium" to the show itself was of a very high caliber; way beyond my expectations. Way to go with the VIP section.

Also must say MFR is the boom!!! These guys are just super-talented. They belong on top and like some folks here have said...Let's use what we've got!!!

In response to the comment made by KJ (26/01/08, I think this person is missing the point completely.

If the Dominica Festivals Committee, who I believe is responsible for organizing the Miss Dominica Pageant doesn't have the "innovation" and "forward thinking" approach to put the contestants of that show on their website, why should the presumption be made that newly formed UHFENTIC should take up that responsibility?

Do you honestly think that if the shoe was on the other foot, what you are suggesting would be reciprocated? I don't think that would have been the case, as historically Portsmouth has never been included in (Roseau carnival) in any significant way as far as I can remember.

Great job to UHFENTIC and don't take on any responsibility of promoting other people's events for them, as your sole purpose is to get the town of Portsmouth back to where it used to be culturally as a community.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ALL THE CARNIVAL PICTURE GALLERIES ON THE SITE!!!!!

I am very disappointed in the judging of the Miss North Pageant. It seems as if Portsmouth has not come out of that biasness that they have instilled into their culture for hundreds of years. Judges vote on who is who, who sponsored the most...and always feel that those who sponsor should get the queen. There is no class, no intelligence in the way they judge and they always want to please the sponsors or organisers. Well hats off to making this year's queen show a success uhfentic but boooo to your judges for making unclassy decisions......when did class, elegance, beauty, grace and intelligence get a backseat in a queen pageant? Only in Portsmouth....good day to u!

nice to see this year MFR get in the possie
carnival they were fooled for 2 long years, those fellers are so proper, we don't need any other band in possie but what is possie own. it could be 2 or 3 from possie not from a next place to jam 4 possie carnival, thanks to uhfentic i will not have to go roseau to jam any more ,as long as u keep it up with no pulling and pushing .

Huge congratulations to all of the members of the newly formed committee and this has been long overdue in the scenic town of Portsmouth!!!!!

Years ago growing up in the vibrant town of Portsmouth, I always remember there being numerous community based groups who organized activities throughout the year for every season/occasion, which was very beneficial to the town and surrounding areas, bearing in mind that most events were held in Roseau and sadly decades later still remained the same.

However, a new generation of courageous, proactive and community spirited individuals has taken up the baton from years gone by and I commend them for their efforts.

Always remember to leave egos at home and keep your eyes on the prize as to what the main purpose of this is, as with collective co-operation among yourselves the skies the limit!

Keep up the brilliant work and best wishes for all your future endeavours.

ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That a unified group of individuals compress together their human resources for a very much needed undertaking. I meet with the group and was so impressed that I became an absentee member. Please don't lose sight of the group's purpose. Remember that better and many more things are accomplished when people work together. I must say that the group has exploded out of the gates. The true challenge will be to keep building momentum. Best of luck and success for the upcoming 2008 carnival season and all the group’s future projects.

BIG-UP to all Possie Massive (I'm one of you and will be seeing you soon)

I also hope that there efforts will send a positive vibe to the past groups of portsmouth and they too will be encouraged to have their own rebirths. For togetherness is what builds a community.
